It’s a huge feat when you hire rockstar engineers in our world, so we’re proud to announce one of our recent hires, Nathan Scharfe! Nathan joins our growing back-end team to make MoPub even more data rich and efficient. Just keep an eye out for him though – when he’s not brogramming he does MMA.
In his own words:
My name is Nathan Scharfe. Originally from southern California, I moved to the bay area to study at Stanford University. I enriched my summers interning as a software engineer for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Earning my BS and MS in computer science from Stanford, I began my foray into the Silicon Valley startup world. I spent two years at Discovery Engine (search engine startup) before moving on to Auditude, where I began development on a video search engine powered by audio/video fingerprinting. Although the video search product did not meet our projections, we abruptly pivoted and seven of us broke off from Auditude to form IntoNow (think Shazam for TV meets Foursquare). We were promptly acquired by Yahoo! and I began working at the main campus in Sunnyvale; nine weeks there was enough to convince me I prefer the challenge and atmosphere of a startup! I was lucky enough to find MoPub and did not hesitate to join their amazing team! In my free time, I like fishing, diving for abalone, golfing, snowboarding and training/watching mixed martial arts.
