This week, we are officially launching our Singapore office as MoPub’s APAC headquarters. We have long believed that Japan, Korea, Australia and APAC generally would be an important component of our business. There are a number of markets in the region that are skipping desktop entirely and adopting “ mobile first ” instead. APAC countries already represent more than 15% of auctions MoPub conducts every day. More importantly, demand in the region is growing twice as fast as the rest of the exchange. That’s why we’ve decided to make a big investment here.
With its uniquely favorable business climate, Singapore was the obvious choice for our APAC headquarters versus other cities, but perhaps the more important factor for us was the availability of world class talent. TechCrunch’s Victoria Ho called Singapore and APAC “the next big things in tech” and we couldn’t agree more.
Leading our office here will be Alexander Kleinberg, as Vice President and General Manager for MoPub APAC. Alexander comes to MoPub from Facebook, where he led business development and strategic partnerships for Asia. Previously, he spent nine years at Google in a variety of senior international positions, and led the opening of Google’s Asia headquarters in Singapore. He couldn’t be a more perfect choice for MoPub.
We are kicking off our Singapore expansion this week in true MoPub style with a Cocktail Party at Lantern Rooftop Bar . If you are in town for ATS, ad:tech Singapore or a number of other conferences happening in Asia this week, please come by to meet Alexander and the rest of our global team.
