At MoPub, we know that great technical work doesn’t have to come from the most seasoned members of the team. After a summer of using cool new tools, learning the ropes at a startup, and finding great mentors, a lot of our interns decide to work with us full time. It should come as no surprise then that the latest additions to our Engineering team did just that. Please welcome Kayla Barrientos and Rob McQueen to the MoPub team!

In their own words:

Kayla Barrientos

Hi, my name is Kayla and I am a part of the MoPub Marketplace team. I grew up in the suburbs of Austin, Texas and my love of math and science eventually led me to MIT where I majored in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with a minor in Neuroscience. I interned here last summer and fell in love with the exciting and fast-paced life of the startup world (the fun and talented MoPub team was also an undeniable perk).

In my free time you might find me climbing up ropes and hanging from trapeze at the San Francisco Circus Center or chilling at home with my adorable kittens, Althea and Ash.

Rob McQueen

Hello! My name is Rob, and I have recently shipped down from MIT to join MoPub as an Operations Engineer. Since carrier pigeons unfortunately can’t help us serve billions of ads, I am helping design, maintain, and scale our server infrastructure.

Whenever I’m not listening to unhealthy amounts of dubstep, I bake lots and lots of artisan bread, code at hackathons, run 10K races, and blog . Also, you should definitely not follow me on twitter: @systemizer
